Konshens live @ CRU
LIVE music in Kingston has another series. The Live in The City show, promoted by Marriott International Productions and co-sponsored by Caribbean Producers Jamaica and Remy Martin, was launched Wednesday evening at CRU Bar and Kitchen.
Dubbed the Benefit Edition, part proceeds from the event went to the medical expenses of Norman Manley Law School student Lanesa Downs, who is battling lupus.
According to organiser André Marriott-Blake, “Lanesa is facing difficulties with medical expenses. She didn’t ask us for any assistance. This is basically our initiative to assist her.”
The series kicked off with performances from Konshens and his Subkonshus Crew, backed by Di Blue Print Band.

A Game opened proceedings with a well-received five-minute set, while Delus and Javada also gave good accounts.
Konshens delivered a rousing show driven by popular tracks like Winner, I’m Coming, Gal a Bubble, To Her with Love (They Say), and Realest Song.
The 19 finalists in the Miss Universe Jamaica pageant attended Live in The City, so too entertainment personalities Chevaughn, members of Team Coalition, and disc jockeys Kurt Riley and Sanjay.
Caribbean Producers Jamaica presented Downs with a cheque for $75,000.
The first season of Live in The City will be held fortnightly (on Wednesdays) for eight weeks.
