WITH the summer karting period over and six meets under his belt, 2013 Abe Zaide championship winner Thomas Issa is on track for his third national title after last Sunday’s Jamaica Karting Association (JKA) meet at Palisadoes International Raceway.

“It was an exciting day of racing for all. Thomas has been competing in the 2014 Kartmasters British Kart Grand Prix in the UK and placed fourth overall in their X30 class before flying home to come and race with us,” Heather Eaton, JKA president, told Auto.

He is currently in the United Kingdom where he will contest the KF class in CIK European Championship.

Thomas also leads his JKA class, Rotax Seniors. His day while far from perfect saw him still nab the second round’s final victory. William Myers took his first Rotax Seniors win in the round one final after capitalising on the usual Corner One mayhem that took out Issa.

The Sirgany name continues to stamp its name all over the sport as the youngest of the bunch of three, Zachary notched up double final wins in 50cc. 80cc continues to cycle between Ryan Lue and Ryan Chisholm as they took a race final apiece. Lue is the standout as he races in both the 50cc and 80cc classes with enough skill to consistently appear on each podium.

Rotax Minimax is the happy hunting ground of the second Sirgany, Justin. Despite heavy challenges from a crop of racing progenies including Senna Summerbell, Thomas Gore and Mark Moodie, he took home top honours winning both round one and two finals.
