LASCO helps young women
EIGHT female students were awarded scholarships totalling $500,000 towards their secondary education courtesy of LASCO Distributors Limited through their Curves brand of feminine hygiene products. The Curves GSAT Scholarship was established to help empower young women across the island by directly aiding their educational pursuits.
The top-performing female students were selected from each of the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) six regions, in addition to one student each from the schools of the LASCO/ MoE Principal of the Year (Windward Road Primary and Junior High); and the LASCO/MoE Teacher of the Year (John Rollins Success Primary).
The scholarship recipients are Akira Robinson and Marisa Brooks who will both attend Montego Bay High; Zorian Clarke, St Hilda’s High; Mickhalia Thomas and Karissa Richards, Campion College; Shania Barrett, St Andrew High; Rianna Bailey, Manchester High; and Rashelle Davis, St Mary High.
LASCO hosted the recipients at its White Marl facility on August 11, where they were each officially presented with their scholarships.
These three scholarship recipients are excited about the cool products in their LASCO gift bags.
