Black, Lawrence, named in national senior basketball squad
MONTEGO BAY, St James — DAVE Black and Leroy Lawrence of the NBL-West champions, Granville Jaguars, have been named to a 16-man national senior team that will start preparation for the Caribbean and Central American Games in November in Mexico.
They were influential in leading Granville Jaguars to their first NBL-West title in 2013 when they beat Hoopers in the finals.
Granville Jaguars won a double after earlier winning the mid-season title.
The players were named in a squad released by the Jamaica Basketball Association last week.
The full squad is: Anthony White, Slayers; Aldon Todd, Majesty Legends; Havando Dunn, Majesty Legends; Ricardo Hunt, Slayers; Kemar McLeish, Runnin Rebels; Paran Brown, Rebels; Gary Reid, Spartans; Javon Bailey, Spartans; Dave Black, Granville Jaguars; Leroy Lawrence, Granville Jaguars; Kenardo Smith, Portmore Flames; Andrew Wilby, Pembroke Hall; Omar Barnes, Urban Knights; Fernando Young, Urban Knights; Kwayme Lawrence, Urban Knights; and Andy Smith, Tivoli All Stars.
