Petrojam, Spanish Grain Store in high-quality Business House KO final
DEFENDING champions Petrojam will meet firsttime entrant Spanish Grain Store in the final of the Scotiabanksponsored Kingston and St Andrew (KSA) Business House Football Knockout competition at the Red Stripe Oval, 214 Spanish Town Road, starting at 3:30 pm today.
Both teams had comfortable victories in their semi-final matches when Petrojam defeated Division Two contenders JUTC 5-0, while Spanish Grain Store defeated Red Stripe 3-1.
Petrojam will be seeking their fourth knockout title and their third in a row. They first won the KO in 2009. Both teams are unbeaten this season, but Petrojam are yet to taste defeat in all competitions for the past three years stretching some 36 games.
The teams will be parading a number of National Premier League players, but Petrojam should start as favourites against their Division Two opponents.
However, the Marcel Gayle-coached Spanish Grain Store are not only unbeaten in the lower league, but they seem capable of matching any Division One team given the quality players in their squad.
Gayle will look to Vincent Earle, Weston Forest, Damarley Samuels, Roberto Fletcher, Ranique Muir, Kemar Flemmings, Jauvani Benjamin, Jameel Thomson and Hugh Howell to win their first KSA Business House title.
Petrojam, who will be captained by Jotham Watson, will look to Marvin Morgan, Kirk Ramsey, Jarron Richards, Andrew Christie, Kimarley Brissett, Tyronne Davis, David Stultz and Ramone McGreggor to give player/coach Damion Campbell his first title.
