Chanderpaul goes into Bangladesh Test 6th on ICC ranking
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Veteran West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul will go into the Test series against Bangladesh as the highest-ranked batsman from either side, in sixth place on the Reliance ICC Player Rankings.
Other batsmen from the teams to feature inside the top 50 and likely to appear during the series are Darren Bravo (22nd), Chris Gayle (29th), Mominul Haque (33rd), Tamim Iqbal (42nd), Nasir Hossain (46th) and Denesh Ramdin (49th).
The West Indies will take on Bangladesh in the first match of the two-Test series on Friday September 5 in Kingstown, St Vincent. The two teams are currently ranked eighth and 10th respectively on the ICC Test team ranking.
The second Test is scheduled from September 13 -17 at Gros Islet, St Lucia.
