Gutzmore, Blagrove win Good Samaritan 5K Health Walk/Run
Andrew Gutzmore and Karlene Blagrove emerged respective men’s and women’s winners of the Good Samaritan 5K Health Walk/Run hosted by the Andrews Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sunday in Kingston.
Gutzmore won in a time of 20 minutes, 11 seconds, while Blagrove recorded 24 minutes and 41 seconds for her victory.
The event focused on raising awareness and funds for programmes geared at caring for the homeless in the capital city and its environs.
The Good Samaritan Walk/Run and its accompanying Health Fair are the opening activities for the church’s annual Complete Wellness Series, under the theme “Pathways to Radiant Health”.
The series includes presentations from a wide range of health professionals — cardiologists, radiologists, oncologists, dieticians, nurses and dentists.
Now in its third year, the walk/run saw seasoned marathoners participating.
