ISSA Rural school netball league begins today
THE 2014 Digicel/ISSA Rural High Schools Junior and Senior League competitions are scheduled to get under way today at several school venues.
Action in the Junior League will start at 2:30 pm with the Senior League action scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm.
A total of 87 schools are grouped into 12 zones with the top two teams advancing to the second round.
Meanwhile, in the rural high schools opening rally, Manchester High captured both the junior and senior titles at Manchester High last Friday.
St Elizabeth Technical High are the defending All-Island and Rural Junior League champions, while Holmwood Technical High are the All-Island and Rural Senior League defending champions.
STETHS playing in Zone D will host Lacovia High in both the Junior and Senior Leagues.
The other Junior and Senior League matches to be played in Zone D are between hosts Lewisville High and Maggotty.
Teams in Zone D are STETHS, BB Coke, Black River High, Lacovia, Lewisville, Maggotty, Newell High and Hampton High.
Other matches scheduled to be played today are Zone B which sees St James High hosting Green Pond High in both the Juniors and Seniors.
Clarendon College will be at home to Kellits High in both Juniors and Seniors in Zone H.
In Zone L the Junior and Senior League matches are Titchfield High vs Port Antonio High; Seaforth High vs Robert Lightbourne High; Happy Grove High vs Fair Prospect High.
Home teams are named first.
