Former National Works Agency manager, co-accused bail extended
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former National Works Agency Projects Manager George Knight, a police inspector and three other co-accused had their bails extended today when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on fraud charges.
The five are to return to court on November 4 by which time their case file should be ready for a trial date to be set.
They were arrested last July and charged with forgery, uttering forged documents and conspiracy to deceive.
Charged along with the 44-year-old Knight are Andrew Bobb, a 48-year-old inspector of police from Portland; Clava Mantock Snr, a 62 year-old electrical engineer of Red Hills, St Andrew; Clava Mantock Jnr, a 32 year-old analyst of Musgrave Road, Kingston 5; and Melville Edwards, a 40-year-old business manager of Birdsucker Mews, Kingston 8.
The men were detained during an operation by MOCA assisted by other arms of the police force and the Financial Investigation Division of the Ministry of Finance (FID) covering four parishes.
