Court could throw out shooting charge against Zeeks’ son
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The son of imprisoned Matthews Lane don Donald ‘Zeeks’ Phipps could have the gun-related charges against him dropped when he appears in the High Court Division of the Gun Court on October 1.
The main witness hasn’t been attending court and indications were made on the last occasion that the case could be thrown out if the witness doesn’t show for the new date.
Renardo Phipps is charged with illegal possession of firearm and wounding with intent. The charges stem from allegations that he shot a woman in the community his father once ‘ruled’.
The shooting incident is reported to have taken place on September 4, 2013 while the woman was riding her bicycle along Rose Lane.
She was hospitalised for several days.
