Entertainers spice up pan chicken festival
A delightful mix of gospel and secular music spiced up the CB Pan Chicken Western Regional Eliminations at Dump Up Beach in Montego Bay, on Saturday.
Gospel artiste Goddy Goddy and dancehall deejays Cham and Assassin (Agent Sasco) served up a musical treat which was well received by the more than 6,000 patrons.
Goddy Goddy opened the performance segment and whipped the crowd into a frenzy. His popular Chaka Chi Chi was well received.
Assassin gave a yeoman performance laced with hit tracks including Anywhere We Go, Don’t Me We Hold You and Roughest.
Cham, who hasn’t performed much on local shores in recent times, received a thunderous applause as he closed out the day’s proceedings with his huge catalogue of hits. Galong Ya Gal, Vitamin S, Boom, Funny Man, Babylon Bwoy, and Ghetto Story did the trick.
The entertainment package also included an impressive impersonation by Jamaica’s Michael Jackson. With his slick moves, he bowled over the audience.
The day also saw several guests seeking out their favourite jerk delicacies prepared by competitors in the pan chicken finals, as well as partaking in the offerings from sponsors including Copperwood Pork, Grace, and National Continental Baking company.
Alicia Bogues, CB Chicken and Bad Dawg Sausages brand manager, was pleased with the day’s proceedings.
“It has been a great day. We worked so hard with our partners to make this event free and for everyone to come out and enjoy. Thanks to all who came out to support the event and also the hardworking pan chicken men and women who participated,” said Bogues.
