Seventh person charged in Cenitech Engineering case
ANOTHER person has been charged along with former manager at the National Works Agency, George Knight, and his five co-accused in the Cenitech Engineering Solutions fraud matter.
He is Lambert Dawkins. The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court was informed Tuesday morning of the development.
Dawkins’addition to the list of accused brings to seven the number of people charged with conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to deceive. A charge of uttering false documents has also been laid.
The others charged with Knight and Dawkins are Clara Mantock Sr and Clara Mantock Junior, Melville Edwards, Inspector Andrew Bobb, and Ferris Stewart.
The men are to return to court on January 6 as the cyber crime investigators haven’t yet finished their probe.
All reporting conditions were waived.
The Crown is alleging that Knight’s company, Cenitech Engineering Solutions, submitted a number of forged documents to the National Contracts Commission to be registered as an approved contractor. The company reportedly provided the names of several individuals to support its application and was later selected for a $732-million construction project in St Thomas.
The court was told that a man listed as an employee subsequently denied being employed to the company, saying he hadn’t given permission for his name to be used on the application to the NCC. The police were subsequently called in.
