BOJ, JNBS to contest JamClear Cup final
BANK Of Jamaica (BOJ) and Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) will meet in the final of the inaugural Western Sports-sponsored Inter-Bank JamClear Cup today at Emmet Park, St George’s College, at 3:00 pm.
The JamClear Cup is contested between the second, third and fourth-placed teams from the Inter-Bank League. BOJ stopped Sagicor 3-1 in extra time last Sunday to meet JNBS in the final. Goals from Mark Powell (70th), Stephan Wisdom (91st) and Tivoli Red Stripe Premier League player Dwayne Smith (110th) carried BOJ to a come-from-behind victory over Sagicor for whom Ronaldo Thompson had given the lead in the 36th minute.
BOJ clipped JNBS 3-2 in October when they met in the league competition. Player/coach Clint Reid will be looking to goalkeeper Paul Allen, along with Marcus Brodber, Mark Powell, Joseph Sardath, Patrick Campbell, Stefan Wisdom and Akeem Themstead for their first hold on this cup.
Coach Wayne ‘Dina’ Brown of JNBS will have revenge on his mind and he will look to Javon Spence, Lauren Riley, Kmani Young, Dyshone Clarke, Mitch Wright, Vivian Lawes and Tyrone Melhado for victory.
The winner of the JamClear Cup will play League Champions Scotiabank in the Champion of Champions next Sunday.
