Titans face Hurricanes in JPL T20
SPANISH Town Titans will hunt their second win from as many outings when they take on Kingston Hurricanes in round three of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA)/Jamaica Premier League Twenty20 competition at Melbourne Cricket Club today.
The game is scheduled to bowl off at 9:30 am with the second match between Mandeville Thunders and University Dynamites set to get under way at 1:30 pm.
The Titans and Ocho Rios Chargers are joint leaders of the league on five points each.
Despite losing Tamar Lambert and opening batsman Shacoya Thomas to national duty, the St Catherine-based team will be brimming with confidence following their nine-wicket thrashing of defending champions MoBay Sixers.
The Danza Hyatt-captained team will have the services of hard-hitting batsman Andre Bryce to boost the batting department, with Peat Salmon, Odean Brown and Paul Harrison set to lead their bowling attack.
Meanwhile, Kingston Hurricanes team (four points) that suffered their first defeat at the hands of the University Dynamite, have lost five of their experienced players to national duty as well. However, the likes of captain Yannick Elliott, Fabian Allen, Thavi Spencer and Leroy Lugg will carry the fight as they seek to bounce back to winning ways.
The other game at the venue between the University Dynamites (four points) and Mandeville Thunders will be an interesting contest as the latter are still hunting their first win.
The Dynamites will be without David Bernard Jr, while the Thunders will be without pacer Marquino Mindley.
In the other fixture on the day, Ocho Rios Chargers will oppose MoBay Sixers (four points) at Ultimate Cricket Ground in St Elizabeth. That game is set to bowl off at 1:30 pm.
