Barbican defeat Arnett 3-0 for women’s football title

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Barbican Football Club retained their hold on the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Sherwin Williams Women’s Premier League title when they defeated Arnett Gardens 3-0 at Drewsland Mini-stadium a short while ago.

After playing out a goal-less first half, Barbican came alive in‎ the 50th minute through Davia Smith. An own-goal by Anna-Kay Richards placed them 2-0 up, before captain Alicia James placed the icing on the cake in the 87th minute.

Barbican were successfully defending their crown for a third consecutive year. The win also handed them their 21st overall title and seventh consecutive League title.
