Sandals join Savannah atop Western Confed Super League
WHITE HOUSE, Westmoreland — Sandals Whitehouse are joint leaders with Savannah SC in the Jamaica Football Federation Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League after beating Montego Bay Boys’ Club 2-0 at Sandals Whitehouse on Saturday.
The win was Sandals Whitehouse’s third in a row and takes them to nine points, same as Savannah SC, who lead with the better goal difference.
Meanwhile, Holland United had their first win, surprising Granville FC 1-0, while Salt Marsh United and Village drew 0-0.
One game will be played today as Savannah SC seek to create space at the top when they travel to Montego Bay to face Violet Kickers at the UDC field, starting at 3:00 pm.
Savannah SC have started the competition on a tear, scoring 11 goals in their first three games and will give the newly promoted team a good test.
On Sunday, Sandals Whitehouse extended their winning start to three games with goals from Damion Wynter in the 20th minute and Anthony Allen in the 28th.
Hugh George Watson, who helped Jamaica College in three football titles this season, scored his first goal in the Super League as Holland got their first win, upsetting Granville FC at Elleston Wakeland Centre.
The win took Holland to five points and at mid table.
Village United were drawing for the third time in four games and joined Granville FC and Wadadah FC on six points.
