Leicester boss Pearson won’t appeal suspension

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson confirmed on Tuesday that he will not appeal his touchline ban for swearing at one of his club’s supporters.

Pearson was handed a one-match touchline ban and fined £10,000 ($15,517) after being found guilty of misconduct following a heated exchange with a fan during Leicester’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool earlier this month.

The 51-year-old, who was reported to have told the fan to “f**k off and die”, will not fight the charge, meaning he will be banned when Leicester, currently bottom of the Premier League, host Tottenham on Boxing Day.

“No I’m not, I can’t see any reason to,” he said, when asked if he was appealing.

“I decided to go along to the personal hearing, which intrigued me to see how it went, so we’ll get on with it now.

“I have been overwhelmed by the level of support from within the game.

“From managers, players, ex-colleagues and members of the media, it has been overwhelming.
