Portmore’s ‘national birds’ invade
Dear Editor,
It was no laughing matter when residents reached Portmore two nights ago to be greeted by an orchestra whose main players were mosquitoes of every size and shape.
No serious discussion was held outside fearing that the mosquitoes would fly into people’s mouths to silence them.
The mosquitoes hovered and followed any resident who dared to be outside of his/her home. They took over every nook and cranny and filled every crevice of Portmore, as residents had to start practising the new dance move called “wave yuh hand and fan mosquito from yuh face”.
How could one place breed so many mosquitoes? I hope the mayor of Portmore can get speedy help to destroy these national birds, a few can be tolerated, but not when they decide to take over the airspace. Intervention is needed immediately!
