Magma salutes Paul Simon

BERMUDAN singer Magma pays homage to Paul Simon on his cover of Mother and Child Reunion, one of the American singer/songwriter’s biggest hits.
Co-produced by Magma and Kevon Brown, the song is released on Magma’s Molten Rock label.
The lanky vocalist said he has always loved Mother and Child Reunion, which was one of the first attempts at reggae by a major pop artiste.
Simon recorded Mother and Child Reunion in 1972 in Jamaica with Jamaican musicians. Taken from his self-titled debut solo album, the song has also been covered by Jimmy Cliff and the Wailing Souls.
Magma (Adam Mayo) is preparing to release his first album, The Mission, by April.
