A vision for your success
BY creating a vision, you can reach far beyond your material existence, get out of your comfort zone, and imaginatively extend yourself beyond what previously seemed impossible.
Most success stories started as a vision and from there on, the rest is history. But to prevent your vision from remaining a dream, you have to create its path for success.
Nathaniel Peat, trustee to Ernst and Young Foundation and award-winning entrepreneur, said when you aim for the stars you will go far because if you fall short, you are still in a lofty place. Below Peat shared a few tips with Career & Education on how to create a vivid vision for success.
* Seek help
Peat advised young professionals to enlist the help of people who are better at doing something than them. “It’s not enough to have a skilled person in your job, neither is it enough to have someone passionate. Build into your team those people who share your vision and are skilled, passionate and know how to implement,” Peat said.
* Use your network
According to Peat, utilising your network is how you will create the success from your vision.
“Find at least
10 of the
most powerful connections you have in your network and then see how you can help them and then how they can help you,” he said.
* Aim big
Peat said if you aim big you will achieve big.
“Trust in your abilities as an individual, believe and have faith that it will work, and it will,” he said.
* Be determined
The entrepreneur advised people to get in their minds that success is a journey, not a destination, and they will make every day meaningful.
“All in all it’s about setting clear goals and mapping the route to get there. You can’t make footprints in the sands of time sitting on your butt,” he said.
* Push yourself
Peat said if you give yourself the daily push, you can and will make it.
