MVP Smokehouse Turns Two
Take the combined restaurant skills of Michelle Reid, her brother Boris, and Elaine Stephenson of two well-respected eateries — notably the Native Restaurant and Rite Stuff Restaurant, add the necessary ingredients, leave to simmer on an open flame, and Thursday Life reckons you’ll understand the taste profile of MVP Smokehouse.
With arguably the widest selection of menu items for any restaurant in Montego Bay, MVP Smokehouse is considered by many as a great spot to enjoy authentic local fare. Indeed, from lobster, shrimp and fish to oxtail, curried goat, barbecue ribs, ackee, and of course jerk chicken and pork, there’s something on the menu board for every palate.
The restaurant, which celebrated its second anniversary on December 17, has developed a reputation for its jerk and barbecue offerings served with the establishment’s all-natural made from scratch — house barbecue and jerk sauce.
House specials include: stew peas with pig’s tail Tuesdays, curry chicken and roti Wednesdays, and daily vegetarian offerings.
Complementing the tasty fare are freshly squeezed, all-natural juices made to order, and sweet treats that include dukunu — to complete a truly wonderful dining experience. This totally unpretentious spot provides a truly relaxed vibe that’s perfect for a casual midday break or an after-work chill spot.
The bill, thankfully in local currency, will leave you smiling and looking forward to the next visit.
