Jah Live gets second coming
FIVE years ago, singjay Lambada released Jah Live, a song appealing to religious sensibilities. He had great expectations for it, but the track made little headway.
“The marketing never proper, so wi come wid it again. It really deal wid one’s livity an’ still relevant,” said 41-year-old Lambada.
Jah Live is co-produced by Everton ‘Caveman’ Moore and Lambada for the latter’s Beezy Body label.
Caveman produced Lambada’s first song (also called Beezy Body) which was released in 2000. Black Magic, Vote 4 Herb and Girl Mi Want Yuh are some of his other releases.
Produced by Carlton Brown, Girl Mi Want Yuh was released solely in Canada where Brown is based.
A past student of Kingston College, Lambada (Ashley Watt) grew up in the Papine/Elletson Flats communities of St Andrew. His biggest musical influences were Peter Tosh and Toots Hibbert.
Determined Jah Live will have an improved performance second time around, Lambada plans to aggressively pitch the song to local media.
