JAMAICAN recording artiste Omi has a lot to cheer about. The remix of his track Cheerleader was certified four times platinum by the Swedish National Record Chart, Sverigetopplistan, earlier this week.

Originally done in 2012, the single was remixed by Felix Jaehn early last year.

“I have the greatest team and fans ever,” said Omi.

Omi (given name Omar Samuel Pasley) said his management team are elated by the news. He is managed by renowned Jamaican music producer, Clifton ‘Specialist’ Dillon, CEO of Oufah Media and

Production.

The 29-year-old is signed with Ultra Music, a division of Sony Music. Ultra Records is owned by former Polygram and Virgin Records executive Patrick Moxey, who signed Beenie Man to Virgin Records in the late 1990s.

In a previous interview with the Jamaica Observer, Omi said he was pleased with the track’s success.

“I’m very excited about the progress of Cheerleader. I have seen my popularity growing in different countries around the world, so things have changed significantly for me,” he said.

“Good music is without an expiration date. Sometimes it takes the market a little time to be receptive,” he continued.
