Classics head for the North Coast
THE Jamaica Classic Car Club (JCCC) will make their annual trek to the Ocho Rios Orchid Show this Sunday on the lawns of Couples Sans Souci, White River in St Ann.
“We will see cars from Mandeville, Ocho Rios, Kingston and Discovery Bay,” Shane Angus, JCCC president, told Auto.
The event not only gives fans of the classics on the North Coast their annual dose of yesteryear, but those along the route from Kingston to Ocho Rios will be able to see the cars in action as they were meant to be.
“The Ocho Rios Orchid Show starts at 10:00 am, so the club members are leaving from the Trafalgar Rd Texaco at 6:30 am,” he said.
Those interested can join the convoy and proceed to the venue where they can purchase tickets or buy them pre-sold from the JCCC. Last year, the show brought together 25 classics including an immaculate 1931 Model A Ford from the collection of Ocho Rios resident and JCCC member Paul Chung, which drew plenty of attention from the crowd. Angus is hoping for a similar large turnout that occurred at the JCCC’s first meet for 2015 in January.
“The classics will be on display along with the flowers for the whole family to enjoy,” he said.
