Catherine Hall start with win in St James Senior League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former champions Catherine Hall got their title quest off on a positive note in the St James Football Association’s Sandals/ATL Senior League when they beat last season’s semi-finalists Montego Bay United Under-21 2-0 at Jarrett Park.
The game was originally set for the Montego Bay Community College, but was moved Friday morning to Jarrett Park.
In another game, Little Miami came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw with Norwood Strikers at the UDC Field.
At Jarrett Park, Catherine Hall, who claimed only three wins last season, got off to a good start with goals from Jamal Morrison in the 57th minute from the penalty spot and Donovan Flowers in the 81st minute.
At the UDC field, Richard McKenzie scored twice as Little Miami twice came back from deficits to earn a point against Norwood Strikers who were relegated from the Western Confederation Super League last season.
Marvin Muirhead gave Norwood the lead after seven minutes, but McKenzie equalised in the 12th minute.
Christopher Johnson restored Norwood’s lead in the 43rd minute, but McKenzie responded quickly, equalising in the 45th minute.
