HAMILTON, New Zealand (AFP) — South Africa defeated Zimbabwe by 62 runs in their World Cup Pool B match at Seddon Park on Sunday.
South Africa recovered from a precarious 83 for four to post a huge 339 for four with David Miller smashing an undefeated 138 for a debut World Cup century while JP Duminy scored 115 not out during their unbroken stand of 256 — a new fifth-wicket record in all one-day internationals.
In reply, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 277 in the 49th over with Hamilton Masakadza making 80 and opener Chamu Chibhabha hitting 64.
