From the horse’s mouth
KRONUS FINALLY COMES GOOD
The three-year-old bay colt Kronus, who has been knocking at the door, finally found the winning post in front. Ridden by Dane Nelson and trained by Richard Azan, Kronus (Liquidity – Surface To Air) was a three-quarter-length winner over Action Man (Prince Holder) and Superluminal (Omar Walker) in a maiden condition event going over 1,700 metres. The winning time was 1:48:0 minutes.
THREE HORSES CLAIMED ON WEDNESDAY
Three horses were claimed on the nine-race programme at Caymanas Park on Wednesday. Pocket Money was claimed from Conroy Tulloch by Deon Facey for Dave David for $180,000 from the second race. The Wayne DaCosta-trained Deo Volente, who romped the third race, was claimed by Casbert Khwalsingh for Gilbert Khwalsingh for $500,000. Prince Oshaun was claimed by Collin Ferguson for Anthony Ferguson from Neive Graham for $350,000 from the fifth race.
MONITORING CHANGES OF EQUIPMENT
The Lorne Kirlew-trained Miss Addi continued the trend of trainers making a change in equipment that has led to success. After the grey filly’s dismal run on her last outing finishing fourth by 34 lengths, Miss Addi returned on Wednesday without the tongue tie but with the addition of the cheek pieces and won by two-and-a-half lengths winner over One Great Train going over 1,400 metres.
