J’can goalkeeper Blake sidelined after knee surgery
PHILADELPHIA, USA (CMC) — Jamaica International goalkeeper Andre Blake, who plays Major League football in the United States, is expected to be side-lined for four to six weeks after undergoing knee surgery.
Blake, 24, who plays for Philadelphia Union, is recovering from a successful partial meniscectomy on his left knee, his club has announced.
Blake played in one league match last year, making seven saves in a 2-0 loss to the Houston Dynamo.
He has appeared for the Reggae Boyz nine times since making his debut in a 2-0 triumph over Barbados in March of last year.
Blake played a vital role for the Jamaicans as they won the CFU Caribbean Cup held in the island’s north-western resort town of Montego Bay last November.
