Baby dies, parents hospitalised after motor vehicle plunges into river
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A four-month-old boy died after receiving injuries when the vehicle he was travelling in plunged into a river in Stony Hill, St Andrew, on Tuesday.
Kevoy Barber of Tremolesworth in Highgate, St Mary, was pronounced dead at the Annotto Bay Hospital, while his parents are being treated.
Reports from the Stony Hill police are that about 8:40 am, the child’s father was travelling along the Temple Hall main road in Stony Hill when he reportedly lost control of the motor vehicle which ran over a precipice and into the river.
The police were summoned and on their arrival, Kevoy and his mother were taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where Barber was pronounced dead and his mother admitted; his father was taken to the University Hospital in St Andrew where he is admitted in serious condition.
