Beaches Negril’s Anthony Campbell is Westmoreland FA’s MVP
WHITEHOUSE, Westmoreland — Anthony Campbell, captain of champions Beaches Negril was on Sunday named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2013-14 Westmoreland Football Association’s Captain’s Bakery and Grill Major League at the awards ceremony held at Sandals Whitehouse in the parish.
Beaches Negril dominated the Westmoreland Major League last season, and won three of the major awards handed out on Sunday.
Other awardees from the resort were Desmond Montaque who was named top defender and Fabion Saunders, the top goalkeeper.
Romario Whyte of runners-up Petersfield FC was named the top goal scorer with Three Mile River’s Richard Smith the top midfielder.
Golden Touch FC who finished in third place got the Fair Play award.
