J’can extradited to UK on drug charges

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 37-year-old man has been extradited to the United Kingdom on drug-related charges.

Marlon Cotterel of Abberville Avenue, Patrick City, Kingston 20, left the island on Monday following his arrest on New Year’s Day.

Cotterel was wanted by the West Yorkshire Police in the United Kingdom for offences of conspiracy to supply a class “A” drug and failure to surrender to custody.

He appeared in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court on Friday, January 2, and Monday, January 19, where he was ordered extradited, having waived his rights to an extradition hearing.
