Winners’ Circle March 5
Guinness Brand Manager for Stouts Andrew Anguin presented Guinness ice buckets stocked with four bottles of Guinness, two mugs, a T-shirt, a hat, and a bottle-opener key ring to (from left) Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries customer service representative Leonie Stewart, Stationery & Office Supplies Limited customer service representative Zeudiann Campbell, Financial Services Commission administrative assistant Verlyn Bailes, Netlink Jamaica Limited sales representative Georgia Thompson, and Jamaica Library Service library assistant Toni-Anne Lewis, at a presentation ceremony at the Jamaica Observer’s Beechwood Avenue head office on Monday. The five women were winners of the Thursday Life ‘Branded’ giveaway and were the first shortlisted readers to answer the questions – Why is Guinness Stout dark in colour? Which year was Guinness first exported? To which the correct responses are ‘Guinness Stout is dark ruby red because of the way the ingredients are prepared’ and ‘Guinness was first exported in 1769’.
