STETHS claim 27th Headley Cup title
TREASURE BEACH, St Elizabeth – Captain Ramaal Lewis completed a terrific all round performance to lead St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) to an innings and 80-run thrashing of parish rivals Munro College on Friday in the final of the three-day ISSA/Grace Headley Cup at the Treasure Beach Sports Park.
Lewis, who struck a century in his team’s first innings, also took 11 wickets in the match as Munro were dismissed in both innings for 109.
Scores: STETHS 298; Munro 109 and 109.
On Friday, Munro, resuming their first innings from an overnight score of 77-7, were bowled for 109.
Openers Owen Campbell and David Curtis topscored with 20 each.
Lewis, bowling off-spin, grabbed 7-34.
Trailing by 198 runs on first innings, Munro, playing their first final since 1974, were again bundled over for 109.
Campbell struck 38, while Mark Parchment contributed 26.
For STETHS, Lewis claimed 4-36, while left-arm spinner Lenardo Salmon took 4-37 to help lead the Santa Cruz-based institution to their 27th Headley Cup title.
