The Second Time Around
There was no abstaining from full-scale partying for the Lenten season as hundreds of out-of-town vacationers poured onto the white sands of Frenchman’s Cove last Easter Sunday for the second staging of the Marbana beach bash.
The day-to-night fete, engineered once more by the M7 Events team, was a qualified success on all fronts — a well-coordinated layout of cabana spots; food and drink stations that were easily navigated (kudos, Sheldon Codner of Shindig Limited!); the to-die-for beachfront beauty of the host venue; and an intoxicating playlist from the three-deejay roster of Richie D, Kurt Riley and Nuphoric, the latter in from Trinidad and a mainstay in the midst of The Rock’s soca season.
Disembarking from shuttle buses or their own autos, partygoers were primed to indulge in Marbana’s all-inclusive party-hearty vibe.
With Appleton, Skyy Vodka, Sangster’s Rum Cream, Patrón and Pepsi having the watering hole bases covered, and the menu created by Jamaica Observer Food Awards-winning chef Brian Lumley (aided by Top Shelf’s Sean Gonzalez in whipping up the delectable fare) finding favour with the cocktail-sipping throngs, the party was in full-throttle mode as the afternoon rays had some seeking solace in the shade or the turquoise Caribbean sea.
Shoring up sponsored support from LIME, Jablum Caribbean Coffee, Magna, and the Jamaica Tourist Board, Marbana again attracted a winning combo of the style set and high-rollers for Year #2.
