Praise on the Beach for MoBay
MONTEGO BAY, St James — The Atlanta-based Val Copeland Group’s, Praise on the Beach gospel concert will be staged at the Dump-Up Beach in Montego Bay on Saturday, April 25.
The concert will feature performances from a range of popular gospel artistes from the USA and Jamaica, including Byron Cage, Kierra ‘KiKi’ Sheard, Dr Larry Reid and The Breakthrough Singers, Craig Crawford Players, Kevin Downswell, Jermaine Edwards and Kerron Ennis.
Host of the concert will be Dr Bobby Jones Grammy award-winning gospel music singer and television host from Nashville, Tennessee, and the host and executive producer of several cable television gospel music programmes including Bobby Jones Gospel.
This is the first time Praise on the Beach event is being held outside the USA and President and CEO of the Val Copeland Group, Val Copeland, notes that in bringing Praise on the Beach to Jamaica, his vision was to spread the word throughout the United States that “Jamaica is a truly family-friendly destination”.
“What better way to disseminate this message than creating a faith-based event in the beautiful island of Jamaica?” Copeland asked. The Jamaica Tourist Board is the main sponsor of the event.
Meanwhile, Director of Tourism, Paul Pennicook said that Praise on the Beach is an ideal opportunity to cement and extend Jamaica’s footprint in the faith-based tourism market.
“Jamaica has the perfect backdrop for praise and worship events like Praise on the Beach,” he said.
“Events such as these have the potential to positively impact our arrival figures and earnings. Faith travel is a growing industry, generating up to US$100 billion annually. We are happy to support events like Praise on the Beach”.
