NCB open winning account in domino league
DIVISION Two champions National Commercial Bank (NCB) opened their winning account with a 142-121 victory over Cari-Med in the third round of the National Association of Domino Bodies Kingston & St Andrew Region Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Business House League last Friday.
Having lost to Campari in round two, NCB made no mistakes this time as they put away their opponents with minimum fuss. NCB could also get full points from their first match against Berger Paints Jamaica Limited which was postponed as Berger Paints withdrew from the competition.
Campari, who were scheduled to play Berger Paints last week, could also be awarded with full points, but that decision is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Kingston Wharves defeated hosts Seprod 117-106. It was the third win from as many games for the champions.
Also with a perfect record in the top division are former knockout champions J Wray & Nephew Limited, who got the better of Carib Cement 133-124.
In other games, National Baking Company defeated JUTC 128-114 and Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) lost 107-142 to Gleaner at 7 North Street.
In Division Two, Digicel and Ministry of Finance (MOF) maintained their perfect start to the season.
Digicel whipped Kris-An Charles 134-95, while MOF had a 151-128 victory over Petrojam.
In other results, Nutrition Products edged Transport Authority 140-136 in a high-scoring game, Pepsi-Cola Jamaica surprisingly went down 134-154 to Flow, Urban Development Corporation (UDC) upset National Housing Trust (NHT) with a 136-115 victory and Jamaica Observer whipped Seaboard Jamaica 127-107.
Round four takes place today with a full slate of matches in both divisions.
In Division One, Kingston Wharves host J Wray & Nephew at King Port Building, Carib Cement welcome Gleaner, NCB will travel to JUTC at Olympia Crown Hotel, Cari-Med are at home to Campari and BOJ host Seprod.
National Baking Company is the team that will be sitting out today’s action.
In Division Two, MOF entertain Nutrition Products, Transport Authority host Pepsi-Cola Jamaica, Petrojam visit Flow at West Kings House, NHT welcome Kris-An Charles, Digicel entertain Jamaica Observer at home at 14 Ocean Boulevard and UDC are away to Seaboard.
