Acid attack!
Man remanded in custody after attacking man with substance
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A man accused of attacking another man with a corrosive substance was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court Tuesday.
The substance is believed to be acid.
Marlon Hamilton, a 28-year-old resident of Metcalfe Road in Kingston, will be brought back to court June 8.
The court will then be updated on the status of an outstanding medical report.
Both Hamilton and the complainant were reportedly involved in a dispute on January 1, 2015, when it is alleged that Hamilton threw the corrosive substance in the complainant’s face. He was taken to hospital where he was admitted for three days.
The complainant appeared in court with visible burn marks on his face.
