From house to cottage
JET moving to Constant Spring Road
THE Jamaica Environment Trust (JET), which has called Earth House home for the past 13 years, is moving from the 11 Waterloo Road property.
It is calling the new space at 123 Constant Spring Road, Kingston 8, Earth Cottage, alluding to its small space relative to the house and expansive yard at the current address.
In a post on Facebook, the NGO openly expresses gratitude to Chairman of the ATL/Sandals Group, which includes the Jamaica Observer, for use of the property over the years.
“We would like to thank the Hon Gordon Butch Stewart and the Sandals Group for generously donating the use of Earth House for the last 13 years. We will miss being there very much!” JET said.
In the same post, the NGO appeals for donations to assist with what it describes as an “unbudgeted move”.
It is accepting donations:
1) In person or by mail with cash or cheque payable to The Jamaica Environment Trust and delivered to its current office;
2) Online via its Booster campaign at www.booster.com/jetismoving (US bank account holders only); and
3) Via paypal (the account should be functional by the end of this week)
JET said it intends to relocate by the end of June.
Founder and CEO of the organisation Diana McCaulay told the Observer that it was served a six-month notice in February.
“It will be a difficult transition, and a costly one, but we are so thankful to Mr Stewart,” she said.
