MAY PEN, Clarendon — The Clarendon College-Jonathan Grant game will highlight the semi-final match-ups in the Clarendon/INSPORTS John Green Memorial Under-13 and Under-15 competitions, which are set to get underway this morning at the West Park Community Centre in May Pen.
In the curtain raiser, Vere Technical oppose Glenmuir High in the Under-13s at 10 o’clock, before tackling Garvey Maceo in the Under-15 edition at 11:30.
At one o’clock, Garvey Maceo face Jonathan Grant in the other Under-13 semi-final, with Clarendon College and Jonathan Grant set to meet in the feature contest at half past two.
The finals are scheduled for next Wednesday at the same venue.
Guest team Jonathan Grant will enter the semis with the best overall record, having dominated both divisions in the prelims. The St Catherine side topped their Under-13 group ahead of Vere Tech on goal difference after both sides finished with 21 points – losing one game apiece. It was a similar story in the Under-15s; they were unbeaten after eight games with 20 points from six wins and two draws.
Vere qualified with the next best statistics. They were unbeaten in the Under-15s, but managed only three wins from their eight games, which saw them finishing six points behind Jonathan Grant.
The unbeaten Glenmuir were, however, the best Under-13 age-group – tallying a competition-high 24 points from seven wins and three stalemates, while also boasting the joint-best defensive record across both divisions.
