Mojito’s is a bar and restaurant located centrally in Mandeville at Elethe Mall, Caledonia Road, Mandeville. It has a very ‘bluesy’ feel but with contemporary decor. It is a popular hang-out spot that hosts many parties and events. The service is good, the staff very friendly, and you will find the owner Dermot there. He oversees and interacts with the patrons and there is a familiarity that feels like family, in a way that is very reminiscent of the popular TV sitcom Cheers -“where everybody knows your name”. Indeed, everybody does! It truly is that kind of joint.

There are large comfy sofas, dimmed lighting at night and that’s also when the seating sprawls out into the hallways of the Mall, which is an interesting use of space too. There is also good value for money and as far as bar food goes, I think very well priced!

The regular fare at Mojito’s is good and they offer a wide variety of bar food as well as some healthier options, but it really comes alive for foodie lovers on the specialty nights serviced by Albert (Junior) Lowe, Sushi Night and Italian Night. The food is spot on, and as one of my friends opined, “We no longer have to drive to Kingston for sushi.”
