33 & FABULOUS

Dinner jackets and sweeping ball gowns were the black-tie style indicators of the dress code that only half the guest list adhered to last Thursday evening inside the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel ballroom. Under the 33rd incarnation’s theme, ‘Releasing the growth within’ of its highly-anticpated glitzy awards ceremony, the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) recognised and honoured the growth initiatives, and corporate citizenship responsibilities of the esteemed members of The Rock’s business community. In no short order, GeoTech Vision walked away with the Young Entrepreneur Award; Red Stripe — Large Enterprise Award; Kirk Distributors — Medium Enterprise; and Mona School of Business and Management — Small Enterprise; and the Chamber posthumously commemorated the indelible contributions of one of its former presidents, the late Francis ‘Paco’ Kennedy.

From a crystal-clinking cocktail hour to the all-angles seated vantage point of the awards stage, SO drinks in the decor details of the Blueprint Consulting event design, and rubs shoulders with the card-carrying members of the business elite.
