Mile Gully advance to Manchester U-15 semis
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Mile Gully FC advanced to the semi-finals of the Manchester FA/CAN Care Pharmacy Under-15 competition after rallying for a 3-1 victory over Georges Valley at the Kirkvine Sport Club on Saturday.
Tajh Frith shot Georges Valley ahead with an eighth-minute strike, only for Keino Wint to pull Mile Gully level five minutes later.
Mile Gully then took control of the contest with second-half goals from Sackley Salkey and Marlon Miller in the 50th and 61st minutes, respectively.
The victory, their fifth on the trot, means Mile Gully qualify for the semi-finals as Zone Two winners. With only one round of games left in the prelims, their 15 points cannot be surpassed by the chasing pack.
Their closest rivals are second-placed Hillstars and third-placed Downs, who both have nine points from five games.
Meanwhile, Ricam Academy and Villa United lead the race for the two semi-final spots in Zone One with nine and seven points, respectively.
