Cable thief convicted, LIME commends cops
KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a letter to the commissioner of police, Dr Carl Williams, telecommunications company LIME commended Detective Corporal Paul Evans, Corporal Peter White and District Constable Michael Bryan for apprehending an alleged cable thief.
The police reportedly arrested the man in Manchester after he was caught stealing copper cables belonging to the telecommunications company, which subsequently led to his conviction.
The convicted man has been sentenced to four months imprisonment if he cannot pay the J$100,000 fine.
“We hope that this outcome will raise the fear of detection while alerting other members of the JCF to the destabilising nature of the copper cable theft,” LIME said in the letter.
“Through you, Commissioner Williams, LIME wishes to encourage all officers of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to continue to be relentless in their commitment towards shaping a safer society for people to work, raise families and do business,” LIME said.
