Catherine Hall book semi-final spot in U-13 tourney

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former champions Catherine Hall Primary became the first semi-finalists in the St James Football Association/VMBS Under-13 competition after they beat defending champions Anchovy Primary 1-0 in their Group 4 game at the UDC field yesterday.

Ajani Clarke’s goal gave Catherine their second win as they raced to maximum six points and cannot be caught, effectively ending Anchovy’s one-year reign.

In another game yesterday, Howard Cooke were held 1-1 by Corinaldi Avenue as Howard Cooke inched to four points at the top of Group Two, while Corinaldi Avenue are on one and Barracks Road yet to score after losing their only game played so far.

Johan Fraser scored for Howard Cooke and Omreiki Lindo for Corinaldi Avenue.

Mt Salem could qualify today, but they must beat Albion by at least three goals to get by Montego Bay Christian Academy who lead with four points and has a plus three goal difference.
