Dylan Dili to ‘power up’ in Ja
HIP hop artiste Dylan Dili will be in Jamaica in mid-June to record tracks with local producers for his upcoming debut album Pain 2 Power.
Dylan Dili is best known for his role in the 2002 MTV reality series, Making The Band, which was produced by hip hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
“While the project is a hip hop album, I have a lot of freedom, so there will definitely be a few dancehall/reggae tracks on it. I didn’t want an American producer to fix me a dancehall rhythm, so we planned the upcoming trip” he told Jamaica Observer.
The 12-track Pain 2 Power is slated to be released this year by singer Akon’s Kon Live Distribution.
Dylan Dili will also use his Jamaican visit to promote the video for his new single, No Mind.
Born in Brooklyn, New York to a Grenadian mother, Dylan Dili (whose given name is Dylan John) spent some of his childhood on that Eastern Caribbean island.
In 2002, along with 40,000 other hopefuls, he auditioned for Making The Band. He was part of Da Band which released their debut album, Too Hot for TV, in 2003.
