Kingston Wharves maintain perfect record in defence of domino title
CHAMPIONS Kingston Wharves maintained their perfect record in the defence of their title, beating Bank Of Jamaica (BOJ) 126-110 in the fifth round of the National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB) Kingston & St Andrew Region Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Business House League last Friday.
Kingston Wharves, who were stunned 60-61 by Jamaica Urban Transit Corporation (JUTC) in the knockout championship the week before, proved that they are a force to reckon with in the league after getting the better of their opponents at Nethersole Place to make it five from five.
The other team to have a perfect record in the top division is Campari, who edged National Baking Company 125-123 at home.
In other matches, former champions Seprod blanked Carib Cement 136-109; JUTC took Cari-Med for a 131-111 ride; and Gleaner got the better of J Wray & Nephew 134-132.
In Division Two, Ministry Of Finance (MOF) is the only team with a perfect start to the season as they disconnected Flow 146-122.
In other results, Nutrition Products edged Pepsi-Cola Jamaica 136-135; PetroJam renewed their licence 140-126 from Transport Authority; Digicel continued to be experiencing service problems as their signal was blocked 128-142 by Urban Development Corporation (UDC); Kris An Charles went down 120-131 to Jamaica Observer; National Housing Trust’s (NHT) roof tops were blown off 121-132 by raging Seaboard Jamaica.
Round six takes place today with a full slate of matches in both divisions.
Kingston Wharves are at home against Gleaner at King Port Building, BOJ travel to Carib Cement, J Wray & Nephew welcome Seprod, Cari-Med entertain National Baking Company and Campari host National Commercial Bank in Division One action.
JUTC will be the team out of action today.
