New bathroom block for Grove Mount Basic School
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The project has some distance to go.
However, sanitation concerns regarding the Grove Mount Basic School in Grey Ground, central Manchester were eased with the start of construction of a new bathroom block as Manchester’s Labour Day parish project.
The new facility will be sectionalised to accommodate boys, girls and staff.
The Labour Day initiative also involved repainting of the basic school and general clean-up of the grounds.
Mayor of Mandeville Brenda Ramsay said funding came from the Manchester Parish Council, Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, the Bank of Nova Scotia, and Manchester Central Member of Parliament Peter Bunting.
Marsha McCormack, principal of Grove Mount Basic said the school has 66 students and five staff members.
