Water tank for Drewsland
DREWS Avenue Primary and Infant School in Drewsland, Kingston was recently gifted with a 650-gallon water tank to ensure that students have water to flush toilets and wash their hands during dry periods.
The donation was made by start-up company Insight Financial Services Limited on the request of principal Sacheel Grant-Henry. The company also presented a quantity of notebooks to the institution.
“We take our corporate social responsibility very seriously and is embedded in our DNA as an organisation, since our start up in 2012 we have contributed to many different charity efforts. We believe that it’s as important to do good as it is to do well in business,” said Renic Coke, Director of Sales.
“As an SME it’s important that we give what we can until we are able to give what we want,” added Howard James,Director of Operations.
“As Jamaicans we must step up and make our small contributions We believe that contributing to the education of our children and supporting everyday heroes like Miss Grant-Henry is one of the best ways to achieve this, ” he continued.
The tank was sourced from Appliance Traders Ltd, where employee Kenneth Smith volunteered his time and effort to install the pumps and do the plumbing.
The books, meanwhile, were courtesy of Sangster’s Book Stores and Book Empires.
“[They] ended up donating the books when they found out about the recipients and nature of the purchase,” company director Julian Patrick said.
