Gullies are breeding mosquitoes
Dear Editor,
On one hand, you have the Ministry of Health warning about a new virus being spread by mosquitoes, and on the other you have the National Works Agency (NWA) seemingly breeding the insects.
For just about every gully around Kingston has large holes in the bottom which gather water and breed insects. However, the NWA does not do maintenance of these gullies. Not only is this hazardous to our health, but in the long run is very expensive for the taxpayer. Water going into these holes eventually undermines the walls of the gullies causing billions of dollars in damage when the expense could be minimized by continuous maintenance.
No wonder we have no money to pay public servants when you see how agencies like the NWA operate.
