Pool series to make a splash
WITH summer off to a scorching start, Encore International, promoters of the MAPS (Music and Pool Series) have promised its next staging will be a memorable one.
MAPS is scheduled for the Atlantis Water Park (formerly known as the Rockfort Mineral Spa) in east Kingston, on Sunday, June 21.
According to the promoters, the series was created to put a twist on pool parties.
“After realising that the term “Pool Party” was being used loosely, we then decided to create our own brand — MAPS — due to the fact that events of this nature were in high demand. We wanted to put a twist on everything; each staging will be held at a different location on the map. This keeps our patrons anxious and excited to find out where next the MAPS team will be heading. Each staging will have the best music and, of course, each staging will be an experience like none other,” said conceptualiser Cadeem Mullings.
Other team members include Careem Mullings, Stephanie Smith, Kory Dixon and Curtis Johnson, Creative Director.
Commissioned to provide musical duties are Copper Shot Music and Xfactor sound system, led by Tiggy Chris and rising stars Jean Pierre and DJ Champy.
MAPS’s first staging was in February and more than 1,000 patrons in attendance. Among those who attended include singer Denyque, dancehall artistes Beenie Man and Leftside, producers Not Nice and singer Christopher Martin.
